3 DAYS MGAHINGA GORILLAS TREKKING SAFARI

This 3 days Mgahinga gorillas safari will take you through the smallest national park in Uganda that’s covers an area of 38 square kilometers and sits on the slopes of the three volcanoes mountains. The park is located in the south western Uganda on the boarder of Uganda, Rwanda and DRCongo. The park harbors one habituated gorilla’s family called Nyakagezi which is available trekking on a daily basis. The park is also a home other interested wild life and primates to view and these include golden monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, patus monkey’s wildlife like forestry elephant, buffaloes, and so many others mentioned but few. The three volcanoes including; Mount Muhavura, Mount Sabinyo and Mount Gahinga.

Day 1: transfer to Kisoro town

Day 2: gorilla and golden monkey trekking and Batwa trailers

Day 3: transfer back to Entebbe.

DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: transfer to Kisoro Mgahinga gorillas: You will be welcomed by our driver guide at the hotel in Entebbe who will give you a short brief about the safari and then start the journey to Mgahinga with a stopover at kayabwe for equator experience then proceed to Mbarara town for either lunch if its lunch time/ short calls after, proceed to Ntugamo-Kabale-Kisoro highway. On your way, you will have your 3rd stopover at lake Bunyonyi which is known for small birds and more than 25 islands and each island with different story to tell. Then proceed to Kisoro where you will have a dinner and night while preparing for gorillas trekking, golden monkey trekking, and Batwa trails/ coves in the forest.

Day 2: gorilla and golden monkey trekking and Batwa trailers: After your early morning breakfast, embark to the vehicle and drive to the park headquarters where we will find the ranger guide waiting for us. After a short briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle with an experienced park/ ranger guide who is knowledgeable about mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. The trek will take about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on where the giants have spent the night, and during trekking, expect to see other wildlife, primates, and many different bird species. Once the gorillas and golden monkeys are found, you will spend only 1” one” hour with them while learning, observing and interacting with them, you will be allowed to take as much photos as you want. After, return back to the headquarters, embark to the vehicle and drive back to Kisoro town for lunch and relaxation. At around 04:00 pm, we will embark to the vehicle and drive back to the park for Batwa trails and coves, learn about them hoe they live and survival in the jungle after, return back to the lodge, for dinner and night while preparing for the next day journey back to Entebbe.

Day 3: transfer back to Entebbe: On the last day of the 3 days Mgahinga gorillas trekking safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with the driver guide to start the journey back to Entebbe. On the way, you will have en-route lunch in Mbarara town and after proceed to Entebbe arriving in the evening and chick in the hotel relax while waiting for your flight.
