Nestled on the shores of Mabamba Wetland, visitors from around the world come to experience the unforgettable sight of the iconic Shoebill. Behind this natural beauty, however, many children face a different reality.In our community, poverty and alcohol abuse have left many children unable to attend school regularly. Some parents struggle to provide school fees, while others are unable to prioritize their children’s education. As a result, many bright young minds are at risk of losing the opportunity to build a better future.At Shoebill Quest Entebbe, we believe that tourism should do more than create memorable experiences—it should also transform lives.That belief inspired the Shoebill Education Hope Initiative.We have already begun by supporting one child’s education, but this is only the beginning. Our dream is to help 500 children receive access to quality education.Our goal is to raise USD 400 per child every year, covering school fees and essential educational needs. Every contribution brings another child one step closer to staying in school and building a brighter future.Looking ahead, we envision purchasing land and constructing a community school that will provide a safe, affordable, and inspiring learning environment for hundreds of children in Mabamba.When you book a Shoebill tour with us or choose to support this initiative, you become part of a story that goes far beyond birdwatching. Every journey begins with a single step.The Shoebill Education Hope Initiative is proud to currently support one child from Mabamba Village whose education was at risk due to financial hardship. Through this support, the child is able to remain in school, continue learning, and pursue a brighter future.While we respect the child’s privacy and dignity, we are grateful to be part of this life-changing journey. With the permission of the child’s parent or guardian, we will share updates about the child’s educational progress so that our supporters can see the real impact of their generosity.This first child represents the beginning of a much bigger dream.
